Lions Week 16 Rooting Guide
The Detroit Lions' path to the playoffs is now simple. To punch their ticket to the postseason, they simply have to take care of business in Week 16.
Holding a three-game lead in the NFC North with three games remaining, all Dan Campbell's team has to do to cement the division title is defeat the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.
Should the Lions lose Sunday, they could still clinch a postseason berth with a Tennessee Titans win over the Seattle Seahawks. Additionally, there are multiple games with implications on Detroit's potential playoff seeding.
Among them is Dallas' showdown with the Miami Dolphins. The Lions have an impending showdown with the Cowboys next week, and that game could decide who holds the NFC's No. 2 seed in the postseason.
Should the Cowboys lose Sunday and the Lions win, it would be Detroit holding the advantage heading into Week 17.
There's also the potential of an impending rematch with longtime franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford in the first round of the postseason. The Rams won Thursday and currently hold the No. 6 seed.
