LIVE BLOG: Follow Lions' Week 11 Matchup With Bears
Sunday marks the beginning of an important stretch for the Detroit Lions.
Beginning with a Week 11 matchup against the Chicago Bears, the Lions will play three of their next four games against NFC North opponents. In their quest for the first division title since 1991, the team must take care of business against their common foes.
Detroit will play Chicago Sunday, Green Bay Thursday and Chicago again on Dec. 10. A Dec. 3 matchup with New Orleans is the only non-NFC North foe on the schedule in the next four weeks.
The Bears are an intriguing foe. After a strong offseason, they've struggled offensively. Justin Fields is making his return to the lineup Sunday after being out since Oct. 15.
Without Fields, the Bears were forced to insert undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent as the team's starting quarterback. This season, Bagent has thrown for 859 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions while leading the team to a 2-2 record.
While sidelined, Fields was forced to take on a leadership role to mentor the rookie.
Predictions: Bears-Lions
"It's been great. In terms of him being a professional, him helping out Tyson … I think that was very beneficial for Tyson to have that support," coach Matt Eberflus told reporters. "Because you can feel support, you can feel him being genuine about that support and really helpful and he was great that way. He's always been a great teammate, always been one of the hardest workers. He was engaged in all those game plans to be helpful and to be supportive."
