Moon Vibes: Why Lions Dominate Buccaneers

Lions have a 3-1 record with this moon type.
In this story:

Admittedly, nobody on the staff at All Lions is a moon expert.

But, everyone loves a good superstition, or non-sports related statistic.

Last week, All Lions sent the Lions public relations team an email expressing its desire to travel to Dallas, should the Lions advance past the Rams and play the Cowboys in the Divisional round.

Well, as luck would have it, the Cowboys were flat, uninspired and were soundly defeated at home by the Packers.

This week, in an effort to be as prepared as possible, our publication again declared its intention to cover the Lions in the NFC Championship Game, should the Lions defeat the Buccaneers.

So naturally, I emailed the Lions' public relations staff at the exact same time as I did the week prior.

Even head coach Dan Campbell let his slight superstitious nature be known, based on our seating arrangement at Allen Park.

At the time, the Lions were 8-2 with All Lions sitting in the front row.

Traffic on the Southfield freeway forced this writer to be slightly late for one of Campbell's media talks.

So, being the polite reporter I am and not wanting to disrupt a live media session, a decision was made to sit in the back.

Campbell immediately brought up our altered seating arrangement, expressing the team was six games over .500 with us sitting in front.

We won't bring up what happened on the field that week.

So naturally, All Lions conducted itself in the exact same manner this week, including sitting in the front row to ensure a Lions victory.

'Moon vibes'

The Lions have also had success in the past based on the phase of the moon, as pointed out by a popular local sports reporter.

According to A to Z Sports, "The Lions played the Bucs in the playoffs once before in 1997. The moon was a new moon that day. Not sure if that has anything to do with vampires or not. The moon this Sunday is a waxing gibbous. The Lions are 3-1 on waxing gibbous moons this year."

As a result of the stars aligning, the Lions must be clear favorites to win their second consecutive home playoff game.
