Detroit vs. Everybody: 98 Percent of NFL Experts Predict Lions to Win

Will the Lions take their record to 6-2?

The Detroit Lions are 7.5-point betting favorites to defeat the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

According to NFL Pickwatch, 98 percent of NFL analysts are picking the Lions to improve their record on the 2023 season to 6-2 by defeating the 3-4 Raiders.

Last week, Detroit had one of their worst performances of the season, as the Baltimore Ravens were able to execute at a high level on both sides of the football.

Detroit is returning home to play at Ford Field on Monday Night Football after a 38-6 drubbing at the hands of the AFC powerhouse.

“Dan Campbell’s Lions were served a healthy slice of humble pie last week. You could say the same for the Raiders, who suffered a blowout loss to rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent and the lowly Bears," the league's website explained in their Week 8 NFL preview.

This season, Detroit's offense is averaging 31 points per game at home, while the Raiders have scored 20 points just once. Veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is returning for the Raiders, which could improve their chances of executing better offensively.

Last week, Detroit's offense struggled on the road, starting the game with multiple three-and-outs.

Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was asked if he considers changing the script in the middle of a game, if the offense is struggling to get things going.

Johnson noted, "Sometimes, yeah. I mean, it’s kind of what I’m feeling too. You look up and we’ve got certain guys that are spark players for us that can help get us back on track and it’s on me to make sure those guys are getting the ball.”

The Raiders lead the all-time series, as they are 7-6 against the Lions.

Back in 2019, the Lions were defeated on the road by the Raiders, 31-24, in their last meeting.
