Red Wings Fans Chant 'Jared Goff'

Red Wings fans are going viral.

The support for Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has grown tremendously over the past few months.

Winning in the postseason has put a spotlight on several members of the roster, but none more brighter than on Detroit's veteran signal-caller.

After years of futility, Goff and the offense have played at a high level, giving the Lions an opportunity to compete and win two playoff games in the same season.

Chants of "Ja-Red Goff" were heard at Ford Field during both playoff games.

On Thursday evening, reporters also heard similar chants at Little Caesars Arena during the Red Wings hockey contest against the Flyers.

For Detroit's young roster, staying in the moment and not reflecting on the magnitude of their next game helps to keep emotions under control.

"This week will be a little bit more attention than last week. And of course, there’s four teams left, and these are the times you dream of as a kid and you grow up, hoping to be in these final games," said Goff. "And we’re one win away from our ultimate goal of getting to the Super Bowl and winning that game as well. But yeah, we’re where our feet are today and being very present. And know this will be a challenge for us this week and doing our best.”

Among the reasons the 29-year-old is having the best season of his career is his ability to remain calm and under control, despite all the chaos and noise that naturally surrounds a popular NFL team.

"It does come quite naturally, but I do think there’s a part of me that’s intentional about being consistent whether things are good or bad, and making sure guys know that I’m not worried about it, so you guys – it’s all handled. It’s all under control," Goff said. And that’s not easy.

"I think at times you are worried about things, you are trying to make sure things are the right way and being able to give off that everything is handled is important I think and something that I’ve always tried to do.”
