Seahawks Dominate, Shut Out Lions in Madden 23 Simulation

Lions' offense held scoreless in popular EA Sports NFL video game.

The Detroit Lions were shutout, 34-0, in a recently completed EA Sports Madden 23 online simulation.

It's Vikk Simulations used updated rosters to set up the game and had previously completed a simulation of the Lions' season-opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Seahawks scored on their opening possession, marching down the field on the strength of Geno Smith's connection with DK Metcalf. The two connected for a 26-yard touchdown to open the scoring.

Down seven and facing a 50-yard field goal, Dan Campbell opted to attempt a fake. It was stifled, as the shovel pass from holder Hendon Hooker to Shane Zylstra went for negative yards.

Seattle once again moved the ball with ease. The drive concluded with Smith tossing his second touchdown strike, this time a four-yard pass to rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

After Michael Badgley missed a 58-yard field goal, the Seahawks went on a short drive and added three before halftime when Jason Myers nailed a 56-yard kick. The Lions trailed 17-0 at the break.

Myers hit another field goal after the break, but the Lions began to spiral late in the third quarter. Marvin Jones Jr. lost a fumble on Detroit's half of the field, and Smith hit Smith-Njigba for a 32-yard score three plays later.

Jared Goff was able to lead the Lions past midfield on the ensuing drive, but the progress came to a halt when he was picked off by linebacker Bobby Wagner

As they'd done for most of the game, the Seahawks marched right down the field against a struggling Lions' defense. Smith fired his fourth touchdown strike to complete the scoring.

Detroit punted on its final drive, allowing Seattle to run out the clock on its final possession. Smith, who dominated Detroit in the two team's real meeting last season, threw for 294 yards and four scores in the simulation.

In Madden 2023 simulations, Detroit sits with a record of 1-1.
