St. Brown Lowest PFF-Graded Offensive Player Against Bears

Examining PFF grades from Detroit's loss to Chicago.

The Detroit Lions suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of an NFC North rival in Week 14.

After narrowly defeating the Chicago Bears in Week 11 at home, the Lions hoped to put forth a better effort in their trip to Soldier Field. However, poor performances from team captains Alex Anzalone and Amon-Ra St. Brown played a part in Sunday's loss.

Anzalone committed two penalties in the first quarter, and St. Brown had two drops before finishing with just three catches on nine targets.

A slow start put them in a 10-0 hole, but a solid second quarter performance generated optimism heading into the locker room.

Jahmyr Gibbs scored a touchdown to cut the lead to 10-6, and Jared Goff hit Josh Reynolds for a score late in the half to give the Lions a 13-10 advantage heading into the beak.

However, the offense went three-and-out on each of their first three possessions of the second half. The Bears scored nine unanswered, then recovered a fumbled snap after scoring a go-ahead touchdown

Chicago turned that fumble into another score, marking 18 unanswered points to ultimately defeat the Lions 28-13.

The offense struggled to find its footing in the third quarter and couldn't make good on a pair of late fourth quarter drives. Goff recorded a season-low in passing yards and threw two interceptions.

Defensively, the Lions were placed in tough positions as the Bears spent a plethora of time in opponent territory during the third quarter. It came to a head when Chicago lined up for a fourth-and-13, and Aidan Hutchinson jumping offsides led to Justin Fields firing a touchdown pass to DJ Moore.
