Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jared Goff Clown Haters at Lambeau Field
The Detroit Lions certainly enjoy keeping receipts.
For a team that is rising up the standings, addressing negative comments or gestures from fans, opponents or NFL pundits can be rewarding.
Prior to the game against the Green Bay Packers, NFL analyst and former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick called Lions quarterback Jared Goff a "poor mans" Matt Ryan.
Goff, who overcame an early interception to lead the Lions to a 34-20 victory against the Packers, had the last laugh, pointing out to Fitzpatrick he at some point had heard the comments, causing the panel to applaud Goff's retort.
After the win, wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown celebrated with Lions fans that remained and with a couple of disappointed Packers fans.
One in particular, as St. Brown was slapping hands excitedly, gave the third-year wideout the middle finger.
As is the case, the calm and cool wideout simply blew the disgruntled fan a kiss as he left the field to celebrate with his teammates.
Upcoming layoff
Head coach Dan Campbell is not concerned about the upcoming layoff, as the team will have the next few days off before resuming preparation for the Carolina Panthers starting Monday.
"Nothing is given in this league," said Campbell. "There are no handouts. You've got to go take it. You've got to earn it. And, you know, you should assume that every every game is going to come down to the wire and every play matters. And man, we've done that in the last two weeks collectively as a group. And as long as we continue to do that, no matter what, we'll always have a chance to win."
Detroit has started the first quarter of the season with a 3-1 record and are at the top of the NFC North standings.
