St. Brown, Sewell Named to First-Team All-Pro Squad

LaPorta, Ragnow among second-team selections.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and offensive tackle Penei Sewell were named first-team All-Pro selections by the Associated Press.

Tight end Sam LaPorta, center Frank Ragnow and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, who also shines on special teams, were named second-team All-Pro selections.

St. Brown totaled 1,515 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns this season, further establishing himself as one of the league's elite wideouts. He and LaPorta, who set the NFL record for receptions by a rookie tight end, anchored the offense's passing attack.

Sewell emerged as one of the best tackles in football, posting a 90.7 Pro Football Focus offensive grade. In the regular season, Sewell allowed a total of just 20 pressures, five quarterback hits and one sack.

The Lions have two first-team All-Pro selections for the first time since 2013, when both Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh earned the honors.

“It’s one thing to be a great player on an average team. It’s different to be a great player on a great team," said Dan Campbell. "So, you can never lose sight of those things.”

Ragnow and Sewell have bolstered an offensive line that has performed at an elite level all season long.

The Lions produced a 1,000-yard rusher for the second consecutive season in David Montgomery, and narrowly missed having two. Jahmyr Gibbs finished with 945 yards on the ground.

Reeves-Maybin, meanwhile, was the team's lone selection for the NFLPA All-Pro team as a core special teamer. He has been among the team's best cover players, and has also successfully converted a pair of fake punts.

One of those was a 31-yard completion to Khalil Dorsey against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17.

The Lions are set to take on the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Sunday on NBC.
