Twitter Reacts to Jameson Williams Photo with Cade Cunningham
With several professional sports teams in Detroit in the midst of rebuilds, there has been an infusion of young talent entering the sports scene.
Jameson Williams is among the most popular members of the Detroit Lions, due to his speed and potential ability to blow past opposing defensive backs.
The majority of his rookie campaign was spent rehabbing from an ACL injury suffered in his final collegiate game.
His first career catch was memorable, as he broke free against the Minnesota Vikings' defense and walked into the end zone after being wide open.
While he finished his rookie season with only two receptions, the expectation is that the 21-year-old will work diligently all offseason to improve his game and physique.
“I think a little bit of what you saw, I don’t think that’s anywhere close to where this kid’s going to go. He made some big plays, and he had some flashes," Detroit general manager Brad Holmes said. “But, the other thing about Jameson, he’s just a football player, man. That dude just wants to be out there on the football field. That’s how he’s wired. That’s how he is. But, I don’t think anything he did this year is anywhere remotely close to where he’s going to go.”
Cade Cunningham was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Unfortunately, his second season has been marred by a season-ending shin surgery.
