The Detroit Lions being featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks" was quite the success.

It was reported this week by The Detroit News that the film crew has considered running it back with the Lions for a second consecutive season.

“HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ actually inquired about filming a sequel, by the way,” columnist John Niyo wrote.

Even though the Lions will likely take a year off and cannot be forced to film again, the organization felt the added insight and look inside the current regime was beneficial.

"In all fairness, I'd rather not be eligible to be on it," team president Rod Wood said last year, via the team's website. "But, since we are, we're going to embrace it. I think it'll be a good way to build some momentum heading into the season and hopefully give our fans a behind-the-scenes look that otherwise is very difficult to provide."

Last offseason, Dan Campbell's squad was featured during the duration of training camp and the preseason, allowing the NFL world to gain a glimpse of what has allowed the team to take a step forward in its rebuilding process.

Popular highlights included Aidan Hutchinson's rookie performance in front of the team, Jamaal Williams' passionate speech following a day of practice and Campbell sharing in the final scene what he felt about his team.

Lions fans took to social media to share their belief that the Lions should be featured all year long and that the team should reconsider and be part of the show one more time.

Here is a sample of the reaction online to the popular HBO football docuseries wanting to once again feature the Lions.
