Two Lions Ranked in CBS Sports' Top 100 NFL Players of 2023

Were the Lions snubbed in CBS Sports' latest player rankings?

The Detroit Lions are expected to follow up their 2022 season with another winning record.

While the team remains relatively young, the expectations for the organization have steadily grown since Dan Campbell took over back in 2021.

Despite solid offseason acquisitions in free agency and a draft class that addressed areas of need, no member of the Lions' roster cracked the top 50 of CBS Sports' annual top 100 NFL player list.

Two young members of the offense, right tackle Penei Sewell (No. 66) and wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown (No. 83), made writer Pete Prisco's list.

Prisco explained, "He has developed into a top-tier right tackle, a brute who can dominate in the run game. He's improving in pass protection as well."

For the third-year wideout, his ability to get open in key moments has caught the attention of pundits and opposing defensive coordinators.

Despite his ranking being near the bottom of the list, St. Brown was recognized for a significant portion of his receptions moving the chains.

"He showed in 2022 that he was among the league's best move-the-chain receivers with 64.2 percent of his catches going for first downs. He caught 106 passes with six touchdowns."
