Kenny Golladay Limited in Thursday's Practice

Read more on Kenny Golladay's hamstring injury, which kept him from participating heavily in Detroit Lions' practice Thursday.

Wide receiver Kenny Golladay appeared on Detroit's initial injury report on Wednesday.

It was listed as a hamstring injury, and as a result, Golladay was limited in Thursday's practice.

"Just for us, it was just something that happened yesterday, and we were just trying to make sure we did a good job taking a look at it," Lions head coach Matt Patricia said Thursday before practice. "Coming off a couple days off ... so, guys were a little bit tight, guys were a little bit sore."

Throughout training camp, Detroit's offense displayed efficiency, and had many excited about the potential for the upcoming season.

Golladay simply could not be covered during many training camp practices.

He even had Tracy Walker and Amani Oruwariye shaking their heads in frustration, after he beat Oruwariye, the second-year cornerback, for a touchdown during a red-zone training camp drill.

Ahead of an important opening game against the Bears, not participating in certain individual drills Thursday could be a precautionary measure.

Contract update

Lions general manager Bob Quinn has typically avoided in-season contract extensions.

With the NFL season starting in just three days, Golladay still remains without a long-term contract extension.
