Bang The Table: Detroit Lions' 2023 Hopes and Fears

Latest All Lions podcast reviews offseason workout highlights and lessons learned.
In this story:

With Detroit's offseason workout regimen coming to a close, the opportunity now presents itself to explore how the young roster performed throughout organized team activities and minicamp.

Matt Broder, Woodward Sports beat writer, joins the podcast this week to break down his observations from the Lions' offseason, which included highlighting just how improved the secondary is from last season.

"What gives me the most hope is that secondary. That new shiny secondary," Broder explained. "It's gotten a lot of the headlines, because that's where we probably invested the most money in free agency.

"I was really excited to see see what they looked like out there on the field, even without hitting, without wearing pads," Broder continued. "They call it a pajama party here the last month that we've witnessed. But, seeing them out there, seeing the kind of leadership that some of these new guys are bringing to the team, that definitely gives me hope for the Lions next season. That's the area they needed to address the most, and they did. So, I'm pumped to see them out there, once the season gets going."

On the latest All Lions podcast, the hopes of a promising team are discussed, based on the revamped defense, and the fears are also explored, based on some question marks on offense.

Also discussed:

  • How Jameson Williams has been covered by the media.
  • Standouts on offense.
  • Rookies that impressed throughout minicamp.
