Podcast: Should Cam Sutton Be Released Immediately?
Detroit Lions cornerback Cam Sutton is facing legal troubles after an arrest warrant was issued two weeks ago in Florida.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office amended the initial charge Sutton is facing online from "Aggravated Battery - Domestic Violence" to "Domestic Battery by Strangulation."
Sutton struggled significantly in his first season with Detroit after inking a three-year, $33 million contract to help bolster the secondary.
In 17 games, the veteran defensive back recorded 65 tackles and one interception.
The Lions, after discovering that Sutton was part of an ongoing legal situation, released in a statement Wednesday afternoon, "We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning. We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time."
The latest All Lions "Bang The Table" podcast addresses the unfortunate news regarding the veteran cornerback.
Guest Matt Broder from Woodward Sports examines how the organization should handle the situation with a player that made headlines for all the wrong reasons.
"It's a puzzling situation. It's wild," said Broder. "Not only to have it come out of the Detroit Lions locker room. But to be this player, at this time, at that position of need. There's so many storylines that are flowing."
Also, with Jonah Jackson departing, Broder attempts to explain why the offensive line will not take a step backwards in 2024.
