For the second time in the past five years, the Hard Knocks universe is set to expand.

The NFL and Max have partnered to produce the first offseason edition of the long-running HBO reality series, the league and streaming service announced Wednesday morning at the latter's upfront presentation. The first season, set to premiere July 2, will feature the New York Giants ahead of their centennial season.

This will be the Giants' first appearance on either iteration of Hard Knocks, which dates to 2001.

New York is coming off a 5-11 season that marked a significant step back after the team went 9-7-1 and made the playoffs in 2022.

Hard Knocks has covered training camp since its inception; since 2021, an in-season edition of the series has been produced as well.

Teams featured on Hard Knocks in 2023 included the New York Jets (in the traditional edition) and the Miami Dolphins (in the in-season edition).
