GREEN BAY, Wis. – After two days of joint practices, the Green Bay Packers are hosting the New England Patriots in the second preseason game of the summer. Follow along all night for updates.

Final Score: Patriots 21, Packers 17

Never has a preseason game been so meaningless given how this one ended.

Fourth Quarter

Patriots 21, Packers 17 (10:29 remaining)

The game has ended. Patriots defensive back Isaiah Bolden was injured and taken off the field on a cart. All the while, Packers coach Matt LaFleur and Bill Belichick talked. After Bolden was driven to the locker room, LaFleur and Belichick gathered near the Patriots’ huddle. The game was suspended at that point. The crowd applauded and silently exited the stadium.

Before the injury, Clifford continued to put the backup job on lockdown. In leading the team into scoring position, he delivered a 25-yard strike to Malik Heath, who made a leaping catch between three defenders. Next, Clifford converted a pair of third downs with back-side slants to Cody Chrest and Heath. Heath fought his way past the first-down marker on third-and-7 to continue his long-shot run to a roster spot. That’s the play in which Bolden was injured.

Third Quarter

Patriots 21, Packers 17 (0:00 remaining)

Bailey Zappe scrambled around right end for a 6-yard touchdown on fourth-and-2 on the final play of the quarter. Rookie outside linebacker Brenton Cox took his rush inside and was tossed aside by offensive tackle Bill Murray. The 17-play, 88-yard drive consumed almost 9 minutes.

Packers 17, Patriots 14 (11:24 remaining)

The second penalty of the night by rookie cornerback Carrington Valentine gave the Patriots a first down but undrafted rookie outside linebacker Keshawn Banks broke up a pass at the line of scrimmage and Karl Brooks had a big pressure on third down.

Halftime

Packers 17, Patriots 14

Jordan Love went 5-of-8 for 84 yards with a touchdown to Jayden Reed, and Sean Clifford went 8-of-11 for 78 yards. The Packers own a 256-127 advantage in yards. Kingsley Enagbare was the star of defense with two sacks, including a sack/strip/recovery.

Second Quarter

Packers 17, Patriots 14 (1 second remaining)

Anders Carlson booted a 52-yard field goal to cap a 2-minute drill by rookie quarterback Sean Clifford. The big plays: Pass interference by rookie Christian Gonzalez nullified an interception and gave the Packers 23 yards, and Clifford threw a perfect pass to the sideline to Malik Heath for 18.

Packers 14, Patriots 14 (56 seconds remaining)

Bailey Zappe threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte, with two rookie defensive backs the culprits. Carrington Valentine was beaten in coverage and safety Anthony Johnson took a bad angle. Karl Brooks’ sack was overturned by a penalty on Shemar Jean-Charles and Kiondre Thomas was flagged for interference on third-and-10.

Jean-Charles was flagged for holding on the ensuing kickoff to put the Packers in a hole for their 2-minute drill.

Packers 14, Patriots 7 (2:57 remaining)

Sean Clifford delivered a 21-yard strike to Grant DuBose, who hung on despite a wicked shot by Josh Bledsoe, and Patrick Taylor converted a fourth-and-1. But the drive died on a poorly executed screen to Emanuel Wilson, who didn’t have a prayer on third-and-9 because nobody blocked.

Packers 14, Patriots 7 (8:44 remaining)

The backups have taken over the game on both sides. Green Bay forced a three-and-out as rookie safety Anthony Johnson stopped a run for 0, Shemar Jean-Charles had good coverage on Bailey Zappe’s second-down pass and Carrington Valentine had excellent coverage on Zappe’s third-down pass.

Packers 14, Patriots 7 (9:46 remaining)

Patrick Taylor evaded former first-round pick Josh Uche, turned the corner and strolled into the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown. Tight end Luke Musgrae’s block against Uche was just barely good enough. Emanuel Wilson started the drive with four runs for 38 yards. The right side of guard Sean Rhyan and tackle Yosh Nijman cleared a huge hole on Wilson’s 14-yard run.

Packers 7, Patriots 7 (14:16 remaining)

Kingsley Enagbare struck again, with the second-year outside linebacker roaring around the corner and delivering a blind-side sack of Mac Jones. The ball popped loose and Enagbare recovered at the 38. It was a big-time play after Jones hung in the pocket and delivered a third-and-8 strike to Kendrick Bourne, who made a leaping catch in front of Kiondre Thomas. Justin Hollins had the pressure.

Sean Clifford is in for Jordan Love at quarterback.

First Quarter

Packers 7, Patriots 7 (1:42 remaining)

The Packers capped a 93-yard touchdown drive with Jordan Love’s 19-yard bullet to Jayden Reed. The throw was set up by a superior blitz pickup by AJ Dillon, who leveled defensive back Jalen Mills to give Love the time. Reed caught the ball at the 5 and broke a tackle on the scoring play.

On second-and-9 from the 8, Love hit Romeo Doubs on a deep shot for 42 yards. The play was ruled incomplete but coach Matt LaFleur won the challenge as Doubs somehow got his feet inbounds.

Patriots 7, Packers 0 (3:46 remaining)

Rhamondre Stevenson’s 23-yard run was fueled by missed tackles by Justin Hollins and Shemar Jean-Charles but the defense stiffened. On third-and-9, Kingsley Enagbare overpowered rookie right tackle Sidy Sow and dropped Mac Jones for a loss of 9.

The Packers will start at their 7, however, after Henry Pearson was flagged for holding on Samori Toure’s return. Officially, it was a 7-yard penalty. The reality is the penalty cost the Packers 22 yards in field position.

Patriots 7, Packers 0 (6:50 remaining)

Romeo Doubs made a terrific all-hands catch on third-and-10 but the drive stalled. On third-and-5, Jordan Love’s pass to Jayden Reed was broken up at the sideline by veteran cornerback Myles Bryant.

Patriots 7, Packers 0 (10:19 remaining)

Given a short field, the Patriots scored on a 1-yard touchdown run by Rhamondre Stevenson. On third-and-goal from the 3, rookie cornerback Carrington Valentine was flagged for defensive holding against standout receiver DeVante Parker. Rookie defensive tackle Colby Wooden had a quarterback hit on the drive.

Safety might be the only open starting position for Green Bay. Rudy Ford got the start alongside Darnell Savage.

Packers 0, Patriots 0 (12:49 remaining)

After three consecutive successful running plays, mayhem struck. On second-and-5, Josiah Deguara slipped so Jordan Love had to double-clutch a play-action pass. On third-and-5, center Josh Myers’ shotgun snap zipped through Love’s fingers. Love appeared to be changing the play or protection and wasn’t ready for the premature snap. New England recovered at Green Bay’s 18.

Packers-Patriots Betting Line

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Packers are 2.5-point favorites. With Jordan Love starting at quarterback, the Packers also are favored to lead at halftime.

Pregame Notes

- David Bakhtiari is not in uniform. The No. 1 offensive line during warmups consisted of left tackle Rasheed Walker, left guard Elgton Jenkins, center Josh Myers, right guard Jon Runyan and right tackle Zach Tom.

- Jaire Alexander is not in uniform, meaning another day with the starters for seventh-round rookie Carrington Valentine.

- Anders Carlson made a 53-yard field goal to the north end and a 55-yard field goal to the south end during warmups. On a series of kicks to the south, his only miss was a 55-yarder off the upright. He made the second try.
