GREEN BAY, Wis. – Not many things went right for the Green Bay Packers in their 27-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night. One of the big plays was a 14-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson.

As he’s done countless times throughout his career, Aaron Rodgers caught the Titans with too many men on the field. Rodgers got the free play, bought some time and threw a jump ball to the rookie receiver. Taking full advantage of a 5-inch height differential, Watson made a leaping grab over cornerback Kristian Fulton for the score.

“Scramble drill is something we work quite frequently,” Watson said. “Obviously, being able to be on the same page with ‘12’ is huge. He gave me a shot to get it. He obviously put it in a spot where only I could get it and it worked out.”

Sensing what was about to happen, Titans coach Mike Vrabel had moved down the sideline to call a timeout. His plea fell on deaf ears, though. He was furious after the touchdown and after the extra point, which was blocked.

“I thought I did call a timeout, yeah. They just didn’t give it to me,” he said. “They weren’t set but that’s never getting called. So, give them credit. They went fast and made a play.”

While that was a big play by Rodgers, he was thoroughly outplayed by his counterpart. Ryan Tannehill threw for 333 yards, his biggest game since Week 2 of last season. He hadn’t had a game of 300-plus yards and two-plus touchdowns in almost two years.

“Guys were making plays for me,” Tannehill said. “We had opportunities and took advantage of some underneath stuff that they were giving us. When we had opportunities down the field, we took advantages of those, as well. I’m just proud of our guys that we came out and competed. We played efficiently the entire game. We came in wanting to be the more physical team and I thought we were. Upfront guys came with a purpose. We started the game that way and we carried it through throughout the game.”
