Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has some injury issues headed into Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. First and foremost, though, LaFleur had to navigate around those injuries to simply conduct a practice on Thursday.

Eight players did not practice on Thursday. That includes the starting receiver trio of Davante Adams (toe), Geronimo Allison (concussion and chest) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (ankle and knee) as well as tight ends Jimmy Graham (ankle) and Robert Tonyan (hip).

Those five players have produced 64.2 percent of the team’s receiving yards and 54.7 percent of the receptions.

"That is a challenge when you’re not quite sure if a guy is going to be available, because, again, we always talk about it in here, you’re trying to get guys in the right spot to accentuate your strengths," LaFleur said after practice. "When you’re unsure, it does present a little bit of a problem. It is what it is, and you’ve got to just make the best – your best guess – as to if a guy is going to be available."

Who was left standing? Darrius Shepherd, Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, newly acquired Ryan Grant and practice-squad players Keon Hatcher and Malik Taylor at receiver; at tight end, it was Marcedes Lewis, Evan Baylis and Jace Sternberger – on the practice field for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in the preseason finale against Kansas City.

"I’m not sure what the status will be for a couple of those guys this week, but it is good having a guy in here who’s made plays before," quarterback Aaron Rodgers said on Wednesday of the addition of Grant. "But on the flip side, before last game, not many people knew who Allen Lazard was, and he burst onto the scene in the fourth quarter. So I’d love to get him, obviously, involved this week in a bigger way, and hopefully get Ryan up to speed."

The bad news wasn’t limited to the offense. Defensive tackle Kenny Clark (calf), safety Darnell Savage (ankle), veteran defensive back Tramon Williams (unknown) also did not practice. Clark was in full pads before practice before stepping into the Don Huston Center. Clark was full listed as full participation on Wednesday while Williams was not on the report at all.
