GREEN BAY, Wis. – After a stunning comeback that beat the New Orleans Saints, the Green Bay Packers were 2-1 through the first three games of the Jordan Love era.

Rather than that victory being a springboard, the Packers belly-flopped in back-to-back losses to the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders. Just like that, the Packers went from a contender for the 2023 NFL playoffs to contending for a top-10 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Considering their limited margin for error, every game is important for the Packers. After their Week 6 bye, the Packers will visit the Denver Broncos on Sunday before returning home to face the Minnesota Vikings (2-4) and Los Angeles Rams (3-3).

Given the state of their opponents, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they lost all three games. Given how the Packers played the last two weeks, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they lost all three games.

Here’s a look at where the Packers are in the 2023 NFC playoff race and the 2024 NFL Draft.

NFC Playoff Standings

The Packers are only a game behind the Los Angeles Rams for the final spot in the NFC playoffs. On the bright side, the Packers will host the Rams in Week 9 and, for tiebreaker purposes, they’ve beaten the 10th-place Saints. On the other hand, they’d lose the tiebreaker to the ninth-place Falcons.

9. Atlanta: 3-3 (second, NFC South)

10. New Orleans: 3-3 (third, NFC South)

11. Green Bay: 2-3 (second, NFC North)

12. Minnesota: 2-4 (third, NFC North)

13. Chicago: 1-5 (last, NFC North)

14. N.Y. Giants: 1-5 (last, NFC East)

15. Arizona: 1-5 (last, NFC West)

16. Carolina: 0-6 (last, NFC South)

2024 NFL Draft Order

According to Tankathon, the Packers are in line to pick ninth in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Packers will play six games against the the eight teams ahead of them: at Carolina (first pick), home against Chicago (second), at Denver (third), at the Giants (fifth) and the home-and-home vs. the Vikings (seventh).

Because of Aaron Rodgers’ torn Achilles, the Packers will gain the Jets’ second-round pick as part of their blockbuster offseason trade. With a devastating defense leading a two-game winning streak, that’s No. 16 of the round.

So, if the draft were held today, Green Bay would pick ninth (their pick), 41st (their second-round pick), 48th (the Jets’ second-round pick) and 73rd (their third-round pick).
