Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan might miss a fifth consecutive game with a hip injury.

Tonyan was injured following a 23-yard catch at Dallas in Week 5. He’s practiced at least once each of the past four weeks – including a limited participant at all three practices last week – but just can’t get over the hump physically. He was listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

“He gets close and then something doesn’t feel right,” coach Matt LaFleur said after Friday’s practice. “We’re never going to put him out there if it’s a situation where he can do further damage to himself or if we don’t feel like he can do everything that we’re asking of him. So that’s really it’s been about.”

Only two other players were on the final injury report. Safety Adrian Amos returned to practice on a limited basis on Friday and is questionable. He is second on the team in tackles while playing a team-high 99.3 percent of the defensive snaps. Top cornerback Jaire Alexander was added to the injury report on Friday. He was limited participation and questionable, as well.

Tonyan had four catches for 66 yards in the first five games. He added a big-play element with a 28-yard catch at Chicago in Week 1 and the aforementioned 23-yarder against Dallas. So, even with just eight career catches, his absence has been felt on offense.

“He’s a really good talented player,” LaFleur said. “He provides support, not only for our offense but our special teams. Certainly, we’d like to have him out there.”

Both teams are relatively healthy for Week 10. Panthers cornerback James Bradberry, who is tied for the team lead with three interceptions, was a limited participant at practice on Friday after sitting out the previous two days.

“He’s building up and doing the things he needs to do to keep his mind in the game and get himself ready,” Panthers coach Ron Rivera told reporters on Friday. “We just have to make sure.”
