Vegas’ Latest Odds: Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs to Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. – Maybe Derrick Henry isn’t going to sign with the Green Bay Packers, after all.
OK, there’s some tongue-in-cheek there but, just a few days ago, the Packers were +1000 to sign Henry, the superstar running back of the Tennessee Titans who is set to hit free agency.
Updated odds from DraftKings, however, have tempered that possibility. The Packers have gone from the fifth-shortest odds to eighth-longest. The Baltimore Ravens are an even stronger favorite in the updated odds, and the Miami Dolphins moved from eighth to fifth.
Here is the update:
Baltimore Ravens: +200 -> +175
Philadelphia Eagles: +500 -> +650
Dallas Cowboys: +550 -> +550
Houston Texans: +750-> +750
Tennessee Titans: +1000-> +1000
Miami Dolphins: +1200-> +1000
Los Angeles Chargers: +1000-> +1000
Green Bay Packers: +1000-> +1200
Minnesota Vikings: +1200-> +1200
Chicago Bears (and others): +2500
It doesn’t take much connecting of dots to see why Green Bay would be interested in Henry. Packers coach Matt LaFleur was the Titans’ offensive coordinator in 2018, when Henry had his first 1,000-yard season.
The Packers need a running back, with AJ Dillon set to hit free agency, and the powerful Henry could slide right into that Lightning/Thunder tandem with Aaron Jones. Green Bay might be an intriguing landing spot for Henry, considering the Packers are a team on the rise and the Titans are in rebuilding mode with a new coach.
With 9,502 rushing yards in eight seasons, the 30-year-old Henry is closing in on 10,000 career rushing yards, a mark hit by only 31 players in NFL history. He’s topped 1,000 yards in five of the last six seasons, with the exception being his 937 yards in just eight games in 2021. In 2023, he rushed for 1,167 yards (4.2 average) and 12 touchdowns and caught 28 passes for 214 yards.
However, the Packers have large salary-cap problems and general manager Brian Gutekunst might prefer to add a younger back to pair with the 29-year-old Jones.
DraftKings has next-team odds for Raiders running back Josh Jacobs and Giants running back Saquon Barkley, along with a few top quarterbacks and receivers. The odds of the Packers landing either of the running backs remain unchanged, with Jacobs at +2500 and Barkley at +5000.
At receiver, the Packers are well-stocked with their fleet of young pass-catchers. Thus, it’s no surprise that Cincinnati Bengals star Tee Higgins is +10000 to land in Green Bay – tied for the longest odds of any team. Interestingly, though, Buffalo Bills star Stefon Diggs is +5000. Those are still long-shot odds, but only 12 teams have shorter odds.
