Watch: Sights and Sounds from Thursday’s Packers Practice

Get a taste of practice, including another day of practice for Aaron Jones, who could be the savior for the least-explosive rushing attack in the NFL.
In this story:

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones practiced again on Thursday, raising optimism that one of the team’s top playmakers will be on the field for Sunday’s game at the Denver Broncos.

Green Bay’s running game needs Jones’ explosive ability. The Packers are the only team in the NFL without a 20-yard run by a running back. In fact, the Packers don’t even have a 15-yard run by a running back.

At least the Packers got back into running the football during their loss to the Raiders before the bye. Over the last three games, Green Bay has run the ball 34.8 percent of the time – the third-lowest rate in the NFL. However, it ran the ball 25 times for a season-high 110 yards against Las Vegas.

“I think we did a really good job, players and coaches, last game against the Raiders, committing to it early,” right guard Jon Runyan said. “I think we were getting about 4, 5 yards a pop after that.

“Having Aaron Jones’ back is going to be a big help, too. We’re going to really get into our offense. I think upfront, doing a better job on our double teams and our inside game and outside zone, stuff like that, and get it going. I thought we had a good day of practice, working on that stuff. Looking forward to see how it’s going to pan out for us.”
