GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers re-signed offensive lineman Cole Schneider, an undrafted free agent last year who waived with an injury, before Tuesday’s practice at training camp.

The signing, the second in as many days to their offensive line, was first reported by Aaron Wilson.

The Packers also signed Andre Miller, a tight end from Maine who has transitioned to receiver. He joined his new teammates early in practice.

To make room on the 90-man roster, the Packers released two undrafted free agents: guard Chuck Filiaga and tight end Camren McDonald.

Schneider went undrafted out of Central Florida in 2022. With UCF, he started 47 games in four seasons, with 46 of those appearances at guard.

“He can play any of the inside positions whether it be right guard, left guard, or center,” UCF offensive line coach Herb Hand told The News-Press. “I think that's been invaluable, that's going to pay dividends because you're bringing great value to an organization to be able to play multiple positions.”

Schneider was a two-time heavyweight champion wrestler at Riverdale High School in Palm Beach, Fla. After redshirting in 2017, he embarked on a career in which he earned all-conference accolades all four seasons. As a senior, he did not allow a sack, according to Pro Football Focus, and ranked No. 1 among guards in its pass-blocking efficiency, which measures sacks, hits and hurries per pass-protecting snap. He even lined up at fullback and rushed for a touchdown.

“He pulls with ill intentions and tries to kill people,” UCF right tackle Marcus Tatum, who signed with the Jaguars, told The News-Press at pro day. “You couldn’t ask for a better guard than that. I knew when he was pulling in front of me that the (defender) was going to get moved. He’s willing to put his body on the line for anybody and is an all-around good person. He’s always been there for me, always helped me. He let me lean on him the moment I got here.”

Miller was a two-time all CAA wide receiver at the University of Maine. He enters a receiver room in Green Bay that has lost some of its depth with Dontayvion Wicks and Grant DuBose missing time due to injuries.

Miller spent time with the New York Giants after being signed as an undrafted free agent last year. He was transitioned to tight end and fullback after he arrived in New York, but he worked out with Green Bay's receivers at Tuesday's practice.

In four seasons, he caught 104 passes for 1,848 yards and 14 touchdowns. That includes career highs of 39 receptions for 684 yards as a senior. At pro day before the 2022 draft, he measured 6-foot-2 1/4 and 224 pounds with 4.54 speed and a 37-inch vertical.
