Bowles Believes Bryce Young Will Be 'One of the Best to Ever Do It'
It's no secret that Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young has had his fair share of struggles throughout the 2023 season. But many of those issues are out of his control, be it the horrendous offensive line play, lack of a run game, receivers unable to consistently get separation, or the fact that the offensive play-calling duties have been tossed back and forth like a hot potato.
In a season with so many failures, it can be difficult to find signs of promise for the future, particularly with the face of your franchise who has thrown for just 2,783 yards and eleven touchdowns. However, each week the opposing coach typically has good things to say about Young's future and often points out those around him not helping.
This week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles took it a step further.
"A lot of poise. He's one of the best scramblers I've seen this year. A lot of poise," said Bowles. "He's going to be one of the best to ever do it once he's done playing. I believe he's a very good quarterback. Poise in the pocket. Can throw on a dime. Very athletic and he can move in the pocket not just to run but to throw as well. Very patient."
Now I don't know if Young will be "one of the best to ever do it," but I do believe with some help from the front office he can be a more than respectable starting quarterback in the NFL. It's up to David Tepper and the Panthers' front office to not screw that up.
