Derrick Brown is one of the favorites on the Panthers' roster to take the next step and develop into an All-Pro caliber player. The pass rushing numbers haven't been there, but that is expected to change this season thanks to his new role in Ejiro Evero's 3-4 scheme.

CBS Sports' Jared Dubin recently named one breakout candidate for every team around the league and for the Panthers, Brown was the guy.

"Brown finished tied for eighth in the NFL in run stops last season, per Pro Football Focus, and third among interior defenders in run defense grade. (Only Dexter Lawrence and Chris Jones finished ahead of him.) With Ejiro Evero coming in to coordinate the Panthers' defense, it seems likely that several players will be able to take a step forward. Brown has a ton of talent, and could become even more disruptive."

In three seasons with the Panthers, Brown has accumulated 142 tackles, 33 QB hits, 21 tackles for loss, 15 pass breakups, and six sacks.
