The No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Bryce Young, hasn't been named the starter by Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich just yet but he's already considered one of the more talented quarterbacks in the league, and rightfully so.

Chris Simms of NBC Sports is gradually releasing his top 40 quarterback rankings and recently tabbed Young at No. 38 on his list.

"Bryce Young, natural at the game. Now, I know people are going to go oh, well wait, he hasn't played in the NFL. So, how can he be better than Sam Howell or Desmond Ridder? There's a reason the guy is a number one pick. They [Howell and Ridder] are basically rookies still. Howell played one game. He's still in square one with the rookies. I'm excited to see Bryce Young. He's slick. He's a natural at the position. He's got a lot of different releases. He's extremely smart pre-snap or post-snap. I think it's just a matter of time. He's going to have to fail to a pretty big way for him not to be the starter in the preseason."

During the team's minicamp, Reich told reporters that the plan is for veteran Andy Dalton to run with the ones and for Young to go with the twos. The deeper they get into this next phase, Young will see more reps with the ones, mainly because he's the new guy. The expectation is that Young will start Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons.
