Dave Canales Interviews for Panthers Head Coaching Job
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales completed a virtual interview with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday for their head coaching position, the team announced.
Canales is in his first season as the play-caller in Tampa Bay and helped lead the Bucs to an NFC South division title and a very impressive blowout win over the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles. This year, Tampa finished 20th in scoring (20.5 ppg), 17th in passing (224.2 ypg), 32nd in rushing (88.8 ypg), and 23rd in total offense (313 ypg).
The team has also virtually interviewed Panthers interim head coach Chris Tabor, Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, and Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik.
In-person interviews can begin on Monday, January 22nd.
