What the ESPN FPI Says About the Panthers' Chances Against the Saints
It's another NFC South showdown this Sunday in The Big Easy as the Carolina Panthers look to avenge its early season loss to the New Orleans Saints.
According to the ESPN FPI, the Panthers have just a 28.8% chance to win the game while the Saints have a 71% chance.
In the first matchup, the Panthers fell behind 11 late in the game thanks to a two-yard rushing score from Tony Jones Jr. Bryce Young led the offense right down the field and answered with a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion to Adam Thielen. The onside kick attempt failed and the Saints were able to hold on for the 20-17 win.
Both teams enter this week's game hungry for a win as the Saints have dropped three straight while the Panthers are looking to avoid having the worst season in franchise history. Despite New Orleans' recent slide, they remain very much in the mix for the division crown, sitting just a game back of the Atlanta Falcons.
The Panthers found some success on the ground last week with Chuba Hubbard rushing for 100 yards which is something offensive coordinator Thomas Brown can look to build on.
What to Make of Thielen's 'Plans Have Changed' Comment
