What the ESPN FPI Says About the Panthers' Chances Against the Jaguars

No love for Carolina this week.
In this story:

Have the Carolina Panthers turned the corner? Finally? Over the last two weeks, the Panthers have proven to be more competitive and were a couple of plays away from entering this week's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on a two-game winning streak.

Bryce Young is coming off his best game as a pro where he completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It may having came in a losing effort but nonetheless, it's a great thing to see. Young's development as a quarterback is more important than the outcome of a game at this stage of the season.

Flipping over to the other side, the Jacksonville Jaguars are in desperate need for a win. After starting off the season 6-2, they've dropped to 8-7 and have lost four straight -- two of which have been by multiple scores.

Franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been beat up with a handful of injuries and was knocked out of Sunday's game with a shoulder. His status for this week's game is up in the air.

According to the ESPN FPI, the Panthers have just a 21.8% chance to win while the Jaguars have a 78% chance.
