Evero Discusses Miami's Explosive Offense, Chinn's Usage Rate + More
Prepping for Miami's offense
"They're definitely dynamic. A lot of speed. Hill, Waddle, the backs...yeah, they've got a lot of explosive players. I think Mike McDaniel is as good of an offensive coach as there is in the league. You saw that effect he had when he was with the Niners and obviously he's bringing it over to Miami. They've done a good job with their design. They're tough to deal with and it's going to be a great challenge."
Allowing explosive plays on early downs
"Some of that is by the nature of how we play. Some of that is we've got to play with better fundamentals and schemes, coaches and players. We just got to be better. We know there's a lot of room for improvement. There's been a lot of good moments, but there's been some explosive moments that we want to take back."
Explanation for Jeremy Chinn's low usage rate
"There is specialized packages for him. We're obviously trying to play him and Troy (Hill) at that nickel position and then have Jeremy in some of the dime positions. Getting more third downs is how we get him on the field obviously and then some of those specialized first and second down deals too. Our execution level, our ability to play the run game better and get into more pass situations is going to allow that to happen."
Sam Franklin Jr. taking advantage of his opportunity
"He was a backup. He stayed ready. He stayed prepared. And really not just during training camp and the season, but really going back to the spring. Sam has just really increased his level of professionalism and his readiness. Even when Xavier was fine, he was getting ready to play. When he was asked to step in, it was seamless. Really happy with where he's going."
