In this story:

Will he stick at safety? Will they move him back down in the box? Will it be a little bit of both? These are the type of questions everyone has been asking in regard to Jeremy Chinn's role in Ejiro Evero's 3-4 defensive scheme.

During a recent interview with Andrew Siciliano on NFL Now, Chinn briefly talked about the coaching staff's plan for him.

"This system I'll be a little bit closer to the line of scrimmage again, kind of how I was in previous years. I'm super excited about it. I'll be able to be around the ball more. Talking to Evero and Coach [Jonathan] Cooley, we have plans and I'm excited for what they have me doing."

With the addition of veteran safety Vonn Bell, it became clear that the Panthers want Chinn to be closer to the ball. However, that doesn't mean he'll play 100% of his snaps in the box. He does add value in the back end at safety and could play some other spots in the secondary if needed. Chinn is too talented and too versatile to be pigeonholed into one spot on the field.

"He's a guy that's very, very talented. Big, fast, physical, can tackle. Gets the ball out," Evero said back in February. "And I think that's where we got to do a good job of just finding those places for him to play. It might be a matter of him moving around and doing different things. But definitely excited to work with a player like him."
