Miles Sanders Calls Andy Dalton a 'Future Hall of Famer'

This is quite the take from the new Panthers' running back.

When you think of future Hall of Fame quarterbacks, I'd be willing to bet Andy Dalton doesn't cross your mind.

Sure, he's had a solid career and helped the Bengals return to relevance and a pair of division titles during his tenure in Cincinnati but he has never been a top-tier quarterback in the league.

But don't tell that to new Panthers' running Miles Sanders, who showed some love to his veteran quarterback some love during a recent interview on WFNZ

"We've got a very, very good young quarterback that's being mentored by a very, very, very good quarterback, future Hall of Famer, Andy Dalton."

Statistically speaking, Dalton is right there with some of the best to ever do it as he currently ranks 24th all-time in passing yards (38,150). Nine players ranked ahead of him are already in the Hall of Fame (Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, John Elway, Warren Moon, Frank Tarkenton, Dan Fouts, Joe Montana, and Johnny Unitas). Then there's probably another nine future Hall of Famers ranked ahead of him in Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan, and Russell Wilson.

So, does Dalton actually have a case for a spot in Canton? Maybe. But personally, I'd lump him in the same conversation as Drew Bledsoe, Kerry Collins, Donovan McNabb, and Carson Palmer - all really good quarterbacks who had several productive years in the league but just aren't quite Hall of Fame good.
