Odds to be the Panthers' Next Head Coach
For the second straight season and for the third time in the last five years, the Carolina Panthers have fired their head coach during the middle of the season. It was a move many sensed was coming as the losses continued to pile up and rookie quarterback Bryce Young was showing little to no progress under Frank Reich.
Owner David Tepper thought that the veteran offensive mind would be the perfect coach for Young to learn from but the offense never really catered to Young's strengths.
So, where does Tepper go this year? Does he go back to the college ranks where he pulled Matt Rhule? Does he hire a first-time head coach? Is it someone that's been an NFL head coach before? Is it an offensive or defensive-minded coach?
There's a lot of ways this thing can go. And according to the latest odds on Sportsline, we have some representation from just about every category. As of Wednesday morning, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson is the favorite to be the next coach.
