Panthers Release Offensive Lineman Pat Elflein

Carolina moves on from the veteran lineman.
In this story:

Just one day after locking up Bradley Bozeman to a three-year deal, the Carolina Panthers elected to release veteran center Pat Eflein.

Elflein started 15 games over the past two seasons for the Panthers, including the first six games of 2022 before suffering what would be a season-ending hip injury. The move will save Carolina roughly $4 million in cap space as opposed to having a $7 million cap hit on a guy that would be serving in a backup role.

He joins linebacker Damien Wilson as a salary cap casualty. Elflein, should, however, receive some interest around the league at both center and guard.
