Panthers Sign Veteran Linebacker Tae Davis

Carolina adds some depth at linebacker.

In a series of roster moves made on Tuesday, the Carolina Panthers signed veteran linebacker Tae Davis to the 53-man roster.

Davis signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants out of Chattanooga in 2018. He appeared in 18 career games with the G-Men, accounting for 33 tackles, two tackles for loss, five QB hits, two sacks, and one pass breakup.

After being waived by New York in 2019, Davis has bounced around the league spending time with the Browns (two stints), Raiders, Texans, and Falcons. In eight games this season with Atlanta, Davis 174 snaps on special teams and just one snap on defense. With linebacker Chandler Wooten on injured reserve, the Panthers needed to add some special teams help that could also add depth at linebacker. Davis is that guy.
