Predicting What the Panthers' 2023 Schedule Will Look Like
Tomorrow, the NFL will release the 2023 schedule for all 32 teams at 8 p.m. EST. This morning, the NFL announced the international matchups, which can be seen here.
"The NFL uses the power of Amazon Web Services (AWS) to power its schedule-making process. There are approximately a quadrillion possible schedule combinations each NFL season and over 26,000 factors to take into consideration such as stadium availability, travel requirements, primetime games, competitive fairness, and division rivalries," the NFL said in a release.
"The NFL uses AWS to run high-performance computing workloads to find the best possible schedule each year."
Although accurately predicting the schedule is like throwing darts blindfolded, we're going to do it anyway. Here is my prediction for what the Carolina Panthers' schedule will look like for the 2023 season.
Week 1: vs. Houston Texans
Week 2: vs. New Orleans Saints
Week 3: @ Tennessee Titans
Week 4: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Week 5: @ Chicago Bears
Week 6: @ Detroit Lions
Week 7: vs. Indianapolis Colts (TNF)
Week 8: @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 9: vs. Atlanta Falcons
Week 10: @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 11: @ Miami Dolphins
Week 12: vs. Green Bay Packers
Week 13: BYE WEEK
Week 14: @ Atlanta Falcons
Week 15: vs. Minnesota Vikings
Week 16: @ Seattle Seahawks
Week 17: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 18: @ New Orleans Saints
Bryce Young will bring more eyes to the Panthers but I don't expect the NFL to give Carolina more than one primetime game. Maybe they look at a potential Week 7 matchup with the Colts and think it could end up being a battle between Young and Anthony Richardson. Or the simple fact of it being Frank Reich's old team and think it could draw some interest.
As far as the bye week is concerned, the Panthers have had their bye come in Week 13 in each of the past three seasons, so why not a fourth straight year?
