Quick Hits: Bryce Young Takes Over First-Team Reps, Miles Sanders Impresses, CB Depth + More
Bumping Bryce Young the first-team reps
"For right now. For right now...that was our move. Again, there's really nothing more to say other than this was a time we had earmarked to make a move. We made the move. We'll keep progressing and we'll always do what's best for the team."
Any concerns about depth at corner with Horn's injury
"No concerns. This offseason has been, obviously, with CJ [Henderson] not taking some reps and Donte [Jackson] not taking reps, our secondary guys have got a lot of work. This injury to Jaycee, thankfully it's a non-surgical injury, so he should be ready for training camp. I love the work that our secondary's done. Gives us a lot of confidence in our guys."
How Miles Sanders has looked
"Miles has looked good. I mean, he's a three-down back. He can do a little bit of everything. He's explosive. He's fast. He's really got good vision and patience. Really smart. On third down when he has to block, he's a willing blocker. Great teammate. Really that signing was a really big signing for us. I knew we knew it but now we really know it."
If there's enough to replace DJ Moore's production
"I obviously wasn't here with DJ but I know he's a great player. I love our room. Anybody who's been around me knows we like to spread the ball around. And we feel like we can do that with this group that we have. Adam [Thielen] has come in and done a great job. Laviska [Shenault] has looked good. Terrace [Marshall], DJ [Chark], the whole crew. And I think the tight end room has exceeded expectations in many ways, so excited about the skill group."
If he's comfortable naming Bryce Young QB1
"Not yet. I mean, he's showing everything you want to see but again, this goes even back to the draft decision. You don't make a decision until you have to make it. We'll just keep giving him and our team the opportunity to get better and to earn that starting role. He and a lot of our guys are taking the steps needed to earn that spot. But we don't have to make that decision yet, so we'll just keep chugging along here."
