Panthers' Roster Drops to 89

Carolina has a roster spot open.

Just three days after being claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons, defensive tackle Jalen Dalton has been waived by the Carolina Panthers.

Dalton, a native of Clemmons, North Carolina, played his college ball at the University of North Carolina from 2015-18 where he totaled 93 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, seven passes defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

He went undrafted in 2019 but signed on with the Chicago Bears as a UDFA. Dalton was waived at final roster cuts that season and eventually landed with the New Orleans Saints later in the year. He suffered back-to-back season-ending injuries, keeping him off the field for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He made his professional debut with the Falcons in 2022, appearing in seven games and registering 13 tackles (1 TFL).

The Panthers now have one roster spot available.
