Football is finally here.
The Carolina Panthers began their training camp Wednesday morning, and a few things stuck out before camp began. One huge moment before training camp, was that rookie defensive end Brian Burns finally came to terms on a contract.
Another person that made some noise before camp began was wide receiver Curtis Samuel -- who noticeably bulked up over the offseason. He even told reporters that he gained some speed -- which is insane considering his 4.31 40-yard dash that he came into the league with.
Samuel said he worked on his speed this offseason (seriously) and appears to have added some strength.

“I feel like I got faster. That’s kinda scary, right?”
He improved exponentially in his second season after gaining 39 receptions, 494 yards and five touchdowns. So, the possibilities are endless with a healthy Cam Newton, healthy offensive line and a faster Samuel on the field.
WR Curtis Samuel appears to have bulked up a little while training in Charlotte and Miami this offseason, and he said his biggest project was adding even more speed.

Samuel will be the next option behind second-year receiver D.J. Moore, and he is ready for this test.
Curtis Samuel is so excited to be healthy coming into camp. “I feel like I’m a great player. I just have to go out there and show it.”
