Greg Olsen Wins Sports Emmy

The Panthers legend has added to his legacy.

Greg Olsen - future Hall of Fame tight end, Emmy Award winner.

Monday night at Lincoln Center in New York, Carolina Panthers legend Greg Olsen was named the winner of the Most Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent at the 44th Annual Sports Emmy Awards.

Olsen beat out Andraya Carter (ESPN, ABC, SEC Network); Robert Griffin III (ESPN); Eli Manning (ESPN, ESPN+), and JJ Redick (ESPN, ABC) for the award.

"I hate that I couldn't be in New York. Super grateful. Super honored. Was not expecting to win. Unfortunately, today was the 10th anniversary of our charity golf outing, The Heartest Yard charity golf outing here in Charlotte. I had to be there for that, so I was unable to fly tonight to New York. Thank you Jacob from FOX for accepting it on my behalf. I got to watch it here with my wife and kids here at the house after we got back from the golf outing. Just super pumped. Was up for it last year and wasn't able to win. Just unbelievable people in the category. I'm honored. I'm thrilled to share it with my entire crew. With Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Renaldi, and Erin Andrews, and our whole team. Super cool. Thankful FOX believed in me before anybody. They gave me opportunities that were unheard of for current players."
