The Carolina Panthers are expected to trade or release cornerback Donte Jackson, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. A move, in one way or the other, is likely to happen soon due to a roster bonus that is due to Jackson on March 16th.

Jackson signed a three-year, $35.1 million deal in 2022 and if he is released, it will clear the Panthers roughly $6 in cap space.

The former 2nd round pick in 2018 has logged 76 career starts with the Panthers, tallying 303 tackles, 46 passes defended, 15 tackles for loss, 14 interceptions, and three forced fumbles. This past season, the 28-year-old registered 59 tackles and five passes defended.
