Panthers Sign CB Lamar Jackson to Practice Squad

Carolina adds some depth at corner.

The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent cornerback Lamar Jackson to the practice squad.

Jackson, 25, spent the offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs and split time between the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos in 2022. He signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska in 2020, appearing in 14 games over two seasons.

For his career, Jackson has notched 31 tackles and four pass breakups in 22 games. With Jaycee Horn expected to miss "a few weeks," the Panthers needed to add some depth in that room. Head coach Frank Reich said Monday that he is confident in Troy Hill, CJ Henderson, and others to step up and make plays.
