Panthers Tabbed as Potential Suitor for LB Patrick Queen

Will Carolina dip their toes into the defensive side of free agency today?
In this story:

Monday was a huge day for Bryce Young as the Carolina Panthers supplied the second-year quarterback with some interior protection by agreeing to terms with guards Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt.

In order to pay for two of the better guards on the market, it came at the expense of letting two of the defense's best talents go. Linebacker Frankie Luvu agreed to terms on a three-year, $36 million deal with the Washington Commanders while pass rusher Brian Burns was dealt to the New York Giants in exchange for a few draft picks.

Also, fellow outside linebacker Yetur Gross-Matos found a two-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers and veteran safety Vonn Bell was cut. Now, the unit that finished No. 3 in total defense this past season has Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, Shaq Thompson, and a bunch of unknown commodities standing.

It seems as if the Panthers are completely tearing this thing down and will focus on building out the offense first, but they can't afford to leave the defense in its current state. Some moves are going to have to be made and one player that has been tied to Carolina is Baltimore Ravens linebacker, Patrick Queen.

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report stated on The Pat McAfee Show that Seattle seemed like the destination for Queen, but Carolina has asserted themselves as another suitor for the 24-year-old Pro Bowler.

In 2023, Queen had his best season yet tallying 133 tackles (career-high), nine tackles for loss, six QB hits, six passes defended, 3.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
