It was Jacoby Brissett's job for two weeks in 2016 before Tom Brady returned from suspension.

Eight years later, Brissett is currently penciled in as QB1 for the New England Patriots, but the retired Brady is threatening to take his old job back much to the dismay of his former teammate.

Earlier this week, the Patriots posted, onto the team's official Instagram feed, a message from Brady that said "50k likes and I'll unretire."

With the 46-year-old Brady having already unretired once, it's understandable if the social media post made Brissett feel a bit uneasy but the Patriots' current quarterback played the moment marvelously. Replying in the comment section below, Brissett wrote "Nope. Not liking this post!"

Brissett's clever comment has received nearly 5,000 "likes" from other Instagram users.

While Brady last played in 2022 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brissett spent the 2023 campaign as the Washington Commanders' second-string signal caller. After throwing three touchdowns in 23 pass attempts during limited action, the 31-year-old reunited with New England through free agency.

Brissett, who was drafted by the Patriots at No. 91 overall in 2016, spent only one season in New England before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts after the 2017 preseason.

Over 79 career appearances, Brissett has thrown for 10,574 yards and 51 touchdowns while being intercepted 23 times. The NC State product owns an 18-30 record as a starting quarterback, including a 1-1 mark with the Patriots.
