Former New England Patriots defensive back Logan Ryan announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday morning.

"Thank you to all my family, friends and teammates for the guidance and support! Thanks to the fans for watching! Won 2 Super Bowls and got out happy and healthy to be the best father for my children!
Thanks again for 11 seasons! Cheers to what’s next," Ryan wrote on X.

A 2013 third-round pick, Ryan spent the first four seasons of his career in New England. The Rutgers product became an important part of the Patriots' secondary, starting 40 of 64 games while recording 243 total tackles, 41 passes defended and 14 interceptions. He also helped the Patriots win two Super Bowls in 2014 and 2016.

Even after his departure from New England, Ryan always seemed to found himself linked to the Patriots. He then spent the next three seasons with the Tennessee Titans, and in 2019, he returned Tom Brady's final pass as a Patriots for a touchdown, sealing an upset win in the Wild Card Round.

Then in 2022, Ryan reunited with Brady for the GOAT's final NFL season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ryan, 33, signed with the San Francisco 49ers in December, although he played sparingly in the final act of his NFL career.
