Another Tom Brady Comeback? New England Patriots' Legend 'Not Opposed' To 'Michael Jordan' NFL Return
Here we go again.
New England Patriots legend Tom Brady opened up a perhaps perpetual realm of possibilities on Thursday: during an appearance on the web series "Deep Cut," Brady inched open a path to yet another NFL comeback, hinting at a further lack of permanance with his latest retirement.
"I'm not opposed to it," Brady told Blends. "I don't know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I'm always going to be in good shape. I'll always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like (Michael Jordan) coming back, I don't know if they would let me. But I wouldn't be opposed to it.
Blends indirectly asked if the San Francisco 49ers, Brady's favorite team growing up in California, would be his ideal destination ... but it appears that familiarity lingers on the arguable GOAT's mind.
"Patriots? Could be," Brady said with a smirk. "(Las Vegas) Raiders? Could be. You never know."
Brady, 46, acknowledged that his financial stake in the Raiders, which has yet to find league approval, could end this latest comeback effort before it ever really begins. Current NFL rules prevent owners, even those with minority control, from partaking on the field. Brady also referenced his excitement about his upcoming opportunity with Fox Sports, where he's reportedly set to take over analyst duties for the network's high-profile NFL games. No official announcement, again, has been made, especially considering the positive reviews surrounding current lead color commentator Greg Olsen.
All that and more should do little to silence those who aren't convinced that Brady is truly gone. Brady is guaranteed to return to Gillette Stadium this year, albeit in a ceremonial form, as he'll be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame on June 12.
