The New England Patriots continue to leave no stone unturned - or no quarterback hungry - as it prepares for next week's NFL Draft.

On a busy Monday, the Patriots first hosted Michigan's J.J McCarthy for his official visit to Foxboro. And Monday night Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. flew into town for dinner with coaches and front office personnel ahead of his Top-30 visit scheduled for Tuesday.

The Patriots, who own the No. 3 overall pick, in March hosted North Carolina's Drake Maye and last week it was LSU Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels. New England went to Caleb Williams' Pro Day at USC earlier this month but he hasn't made an official visit to Foxboro.

With Williams considered be the lock No. 1 overall pick by the Chicago Bears, the draft will unofficially begin with the second choice and the Commanders. With Washington also in need of a quarterback, New England will likely be left with whoever it doesn't take: Daniels or Maye.

The Patriots obviously are desperate for a quarterback after enduring the disappointing decline of former first-rounder Mac Jones.

While Daniels, Maye and McCarthy could be Top 5 picks, Penix is projected to perhaps fall into the second round because of his lingering injury issues. Nonetheless, the Pats and new head coach Jared Mayo are doing their due diligence when it comes to the quarterbacks in this draft.
