Tom Brady's playing career looked like it could be extended earlier this week when his trainer and business partner, Alex Guerrero told The Greg Hill Morning Show that Brady feels like he can play until 46 or 47 years of age. This goes against a statement by Brady in which he said he wanted to play until he was 45, which once again leaves the door open for a bevy of scenarios that could play out after the 2019 season.

When Brady was asked by Westwood One Sports' Jim Gray Thursday night about the potential of playing until he was 47, Brady didn't give a concrete answer, which was expected.

"We’ll see how long it goes," said Brady. "Easier said than done. I know the kind of effort I am putting in right now, but what a great privilege to play a sport that I love."

He's not wrong. Brady can hope to play into his late 40s, but ultimately that will be determined by how he feels mentally and physically, and what his options are down the road. Brady will technically be a free agent in 2020, so the decision he makes during free agency next season could determine how much longer his playing career lasts.

For New Englanders, the hope is that Brady re-ups with the Patriots and ends his career with the organization he has played with his entire career. But there will likely be other options available to him, which could lead to a sweepstakes for the 42 year old at the beginning of the next league year.
