Report: WR Dontrelle has requested release from Patriots, team agrees to do such

The Patriots have released the veteran receiver to make room for Josh Gordon.

Veteran receiver Dontrelle Inman has requested his release by the New England Patriots, and the team has accepted his request, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Weird. Inman likely thinks he has a chance to make another roster elsewhere in the NFL, so he wants to take his chances in free agency halfway through the preseason. He was on the roster bubble in New England, even more so now that Josh Gordon has been conditionally reinstated.
